Porto Novo/São João: Djodje was a major highlight on the last night of dances at the old municipal stadium

Porto Novo, 24 June (Inforpress) – The artist Djodje was the star attraction on the last night of the São João dances at the old Amílcar Cabral Stadium in the municipality of Porto Novo, on Santo Antão, which was packed with people enjoying his music.

This Cape Verdean singer, returning to the São João stage eight years later, got the crowd dancing to his music, in what was one of the most applauded performances during the three days of São João festivities at the old football field.

The third and final night of dancing began with Juceila Cardoso and Rui Lima, who delighted the crowd who had gathered at this sports ground, which in recent years has been the venue for the iconic São João dances, eagerly awaited by the people of Porto Novo and visitors alike.

Grace Évora, who performed at the São João festivities last year, returned to the stage at the old municipal stadium with a repertoire that greatly pleased the audience, taking the opportunity to pay tribute to national musicians and to journalist José Leite, who passed away this Tuesday.
