Cidade da Praia, Jan 29 (Inforpress) – Luso-Timorese author Berta Montalvão presented on Thursday, in Praia, the book “Lusophone Careers – Experiences and Challenges of Migration”, which brings together life stories of 16 Lusophone citizens with professional experience in at least one CPLP country.
The work features the experiences of Edson Athayde, Cláudio Bento França, Pedro Lagrifa, Helena Viegas Lopes, Matilde Freitas Fortes, Silvânia Santos, Isabel Nolasco, Nelson Costa, Roselyn Silva, Izabel de Paula, Soraia Sulemane, Nádia Neves, Abdel Camará, Sidney Cerqueira and Rui Dinis.
Speaking to Inforpress, the author explained that the book emerged from her own migratory experience.
“Above all, it is my career as an immigrant. I am also an immigrant, and the writing of this book essentially coincides with my return home. At the age of 24, I emigrated to Angola, where I stayed for 13 years, and later moved to Timor-Leste, eventually returning home through my parents’ heritage,” she said.
