Tour guides are calling for urgent measures to prepare Cabo Verde for an increase in visitors following the 2026 World Cup

Mindelo, 5 August (Inforpress) – Tourist guides today called for improvements to infrastructure, transport and the quality of services, so that Cabo Verde can prepare to welcome more tourists following the national team’s participation in the 2026 World Cup.

In a press release sent to Inforpress, the sector emphasises that the international visibility achieved at the World Cup, combined with the growing interest in the destination, represents an opportunity for the tourism sector, provided the country meets the necessary conditions to meet the demand.

“It is not enough to increase the number of tourists; it is essential to ensure that all the islands are in a position to benefit from this growth,” argued Arnaldo Felisberto, the representative of the Tourist Guides of São Nicolau.

In this regard, Ruben Moreira, president of the São Vicente Tourist Guides’ Association, emphasised that the priority must be the quality of the service provided.
