São Vicente: National Police arrest 25 people for various offences

Mindelo, Mar 31 (Inforpress) - The National Police in São Vicente said today that it arrested 25 people last weekend for various offences, including robbery, theft, possession of drugs, firearms, illegal driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to a statement from the National Police Command, the 25 people, one of whom was female and aged between 18 and 51, were arrested as part of various operations to prevent and combat crime.

‘Following these arrests, various objects of illicit origin, 25 motor vehicles, 23 motorcycles/mopeds, several bicycles, a certain quantity of narcotics, 03 firearms, six rounds of ammunition, five bladed weapons and a certain amount of cash were also seized,’ the PN said in the same press release.

During the operation, the police approached 928 people on the street, of whom 500 were searched and 37 taken to police units for identification for various reasons
