Filmmaker Natasha Craveiro takes Cabo Verde to one of the leading international film festivals

Praia, 5 August (Inforpress) – Filmmaker and producer Natasha Craveiro has been selected to take part in the “Open Doors Producers” programme, a training and professional development initiative run by the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland for emerging producers from regions with developing film industries.

Speaking to Inforpress, Natasha Craveiro explained that her participation in the programme was the result of a “highly competitive” international application process, “not a direct invitation”.

As he explained, “Open Doors” is one of the most prestigious initiatives at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, designed to support, empower and raise the profile of independent filmmakers and producers from countries where the film industry is still in the process of being established.

The production company stated that the programme initially took place online, between May and July, through training sessions, mentoring and specialist workshops, and is now culminating in the in-person phase, which runs from today until the 11th, during the festival, where it will “proudly fly the Cape Verdean flag”.
