Praia, Apr 11 (Inforpress) - The 14th edition of the Kriol Jazz Festival kicked off on Thursday evening, 10 April, in the city of Praia, with an evening of performances that brought together the best of Creole music and international jazz.
The festival opened with a performance by Kriol-Kréyòl, a fusion of Cape Verdean and Caribbean culture, featuring Boy Gé Mendes and Zulu, accompanied by renowned international artists.
Boy Gé Mendes, who returned to the festival after his last performance in 2018, expressed his joy at being back in Cabo Verde and sharing the stage with foreign artists.
"It's always a pleasure to be here and share the stage with artists who come from abroad. For me, it's a joy to be here and share the gift that God has given me. After my trip to Senegal, I realised that Creole is not just from Cabo Verde; it's a culture that transcends borders and enriches our culture," said Boy Gé Mendes.
