Handball Federation promotes reception of national team and organizes CV Handball Cup 2026 in Praia

City of Praia, Mar 12 (Inforpress) - The Cape Verdean men’s national handball team, bronze medalist at the African Nations Championship, CAN’2026, will be received on Sunday, the 15th, at Nelson Mandela Airport, in a tribute that precedes the holding of the CV Handball Cup 2026.

Speaking to Inforpress, the president of the Cape Verdean Handball Federation, Ângela Almeida, stated that the reception of the national team at Nelson Mandela Airport, in Praia, will be a “simple tribute, but full of symbolism, aimed at showing affection and recognition for the work of the athletes who represent the country in international competitions".

According to the official, the gesture of welcoming the players upon their arrival in the country already represents a special moment of appreciation for the team.

“Just the fact that we are receiving the players at the airport, with a hug and a lot of love, is already a great tribute,” she said.
