Fogo: National Team Receives Historic Welcome During Unprecedented Visit to the Island

São Filipe, May 22 (Inforpress) – The national football team today carried out an unprecedented visit to the island of Fogo, receiving a warm welcome from hundreds of supporters in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and national pride.

The aircraft landed at 10:21 a.m. at São Filipe aerodrome, arriving from the island of Sal and carrying the national team delegation.

Shortly after arrival, the os Tubarões Azuis, as the national team is known, were welcomed with applause and chants, followed by a parade through the city streets, culminating in a reception at the Noble Hall of the Municipal Palace.

During the afternoon, the programme includes a training session at the municipal gymnasium, a brief visit to the Estádio 05 de Julho, currently under renovation, and a public ceremony at Alameda de Cruz dos Passos, featuring the presentation of the coaching staff and players, as well as an autograph and photo session with supporters.
