Football: An emotional encounter between the Tubarões Azuis and the Mindelo side at the Cruise Terminal

Mindelo, May 21 (Inforpress) – Part of the national team's footballers and staff experienced an emotional encounter with the Mindelo public on Wednesday night, the 20th, at the Cruise Terminal in Mindelo, lulled by the Atlantic breeze.

In their third meeting of the day with the people of São Vicente, the national team players, who are about to leave for the World Cup, were surprised by a reception befitting the island's inhabitants.

Amidst applause, chants, and flags waving in the wind, thousands of fans welcomed the the  Tubarões Azuis, as the national football team is known, with the warmth of those who recognize in football much more than a game, but rather an extension of the Creole soul, made of resistance, pride, and hope.

The port infrastructure, accustomed to receiving travelers from around the world, opened its doors to welcome the locals, transforming itself, for a few hours, into a true stage for affection.
