OMCV advisor highlights organization’s role in promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality

City of Praia, Mar 27 (Inforpress) – OMCV advisor Hermínia Curado today highlighted, in Praia, the important role the organization has played over the years in promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality in the country.

Speaking at the opening of the celebrations marking the 45th anniversary of the Organization of Women of Cabo Verde (OMCV), Hermínia Curado emphasized that over more than four decades, the organization has developed initiatives that benefit not only women but also families, encouraging them to seize opportunities to improve living conditions.

She noted that investment in economic autonomy and inclusion has contributed to significant improvements in the well-being of Cabo Verdean women and their communities.

Hermínia Curado expressed pride in her trajectory within the organization, highlighting projects focused on empowering women and girls and promoting entrepreneurship. She pointed out that training and technical assistance have been “key to the success” of micro and small businesses led by women, contributing to the reduction of gender inequalities.
