São Vicente: International tender for Porto Grande expansion valued at €83 million – minister

Mindelo, Feb 16 (Inforpress) – The Minister of the Sea announced today that the international tender for the third phase of the Porto Grande expansion project in Mindelo, estimated at €83 million, will be launched on February 28.

Jorge Santos was speaking at the signing ceremony of cooperation agreements between Enapor – Ports of Cabo Verde and the Port Authority of Sines and the Algarve, as well as the Port Authority of Lisbon and the Port Authority of Setúbal and Sesimbra, all from Portugal.

According to the minister, the expansion will add 400 metres to Porto Grande and include new terminals, particularly for transshipment, while also increasing bunkering capacity.

“We are effectively doubling our port, in terms of expansion, modernisation and transformation of the Port of Mindelo, increasingly positioning it as a strategic hub,” he said.
