
Praia, Feb 16 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde’s exports rose 18.2% in 2025 compared to the previous year, while imports increased by 5.0%, according to provisional external trade data released today by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
According to the 2025 statistical summary, exports increased from 7.940 billion escudos in 2024 to 9.386 billion escudos in 2025, representing a rise of 1.446 billion escudos.
In the same period, imports grew from 190.447 billion escudos to 199.961 billion escudos, an increase of 9.514 billion escudos. Re-exports, however, declined by 2.2% compared to 2024.
Europe remained the main destination for national exports, accounting for 95.4% of the total. Spain led among key markets, absorbing 63.0% of Cape Verdean exports, although this represented a slight decrease of 0.6 percentage points from 2024.
