Basketball: Emanuel Trovoada leaves Cabo Verde national team after Afrobasket'2025

Praia, Aug 21 (Inforpress) – Emanuel Trovoada announced today his departure as head coach of the Cape Verdean basketball team, following their elimination in the quarter-finals of Afrobasket'2025, against Angola.

The Angolan coach confirmed that the decision had already been made before the competition. 

‘I know I'm reacting in the heat of the moment, but it's a planned move and I know that this wonderful team will be on the right track,’ he said, thanking Cabo Verde, the players and his family for their support.

Trovoada, who has been involved with the national team at various times since the mid-2000s, leaves behind a remarkable legacy.
