
Praia, July 23 (Inforpress) – The Cape Verdean men's beach volleyball team secured its place in the final of the CPLP Games by beating the hosts from East Timor two sets to one today.
According to information provided by the Institute of Sport and Youth (IDJ), the Cape Verdean men's team will face the Portuguese national team in the final on Thursday, the 24th, in the fight for the gold medal.
At the women's level, Cabo Verde lost to Portugal 2-0, "in a very balanced game and fought point by point".
The athletes return to the sand this Thursday to compete for third place with Mozambique.
The Cape Verdean volleyball teams are technically led by coaches Emmanuel Fortes and Cláudia Pinto.
