São Vicente: National Center for Art, Crafts and Design inaugurates “Voz de ouro” (Golden Voice”) exhibition at Cesária Évora’s house

Mindelo, Apr 23(Inforpress) - The National Centre for Art, Crafts and Design (CNAD) announced today that it will be inaugurating the exhibition "... Voz de ouro" at Cesária Évora's house on Thursday, in partnership with the Cesária Évora Cultural and Social Promotion Association.

“Cesária Évora, or Cize, as the people of Mindelo still affectionately remember her, is, without a shadow of a doubt, an unavoidable Cape Verdean personality who conquered the world at the age of 47, fascinating it with her bare feet”, the institution highlighted in a note.

Cesária Évora “carried with her, to the biggest concert halls, the image of a woman who never needed more than her voice and presence on stage and in life to assert herself in the world of music as she did”, according to CNAD.

CNAD also recalls that barefoot on stage, Cesária “celebrated the Creole soul and the country around the world, transporting those who saw and heard her on a unique and unforgettable journey to her islands - the ones she always loved”.
