Praia, 3 November (Inforpress) – Today, the Ministry of Health of Cabo Verde reaffirmed its commitment to promoting scientific research and the use of evidence in shaping public policy, during an international workshop dedicated to African scientific leadership in health.
This position was expressed by the Secretary of State for Health, Artur Veiga, during the third international workshop of the ‘Towards Leadership’ programme, which focuses on capacity-building for scientific leaders across the African continent.
The initiative, organized by the Africa Research Excellence Fund (AREF) and the Coordinating Committee for the Fight against AIDS (CCS-SIDA), brings together approximately 35 participants from 15 countries.
“Investing in scientific leadership is essential for African countries to understand their own challenges and find solutions tailored to their specific realities, translating knowledge into better healthcare for their populations,” stated Artur Veiga.
