Developers of a construction project on São Francisco beach assure the project is legal and are surprised by the reaction of the Minister of the Sea

Praia, 29 May (Inforpress) – The developers of the project at São Francisco beach and the construction company have criticised the reaction of the Minister for the Sea, Jorge Santos, describing it as “irresponsible and untimely”

Speaking to the press, one of the project’s investors, Victor Sanhá, gave assurances that studies had been carried out to safeguard the environment and that the procedures for the construction of the tourist development had been followed. 

“We have taken all the necessary steps, in accordance with the law, from the start of the project until now,” said the investor, who expressed his “surprise at the statement from the Minister for the Sea”.

Victor Sanha claimed that “the Ministry of the Sea never imposed a suspension on the project”, stating that legal procedures had been followed and that some amendments had been made to the design before work resumed.
