Handball: Sérvio Ljubomir Obradovic returns to coach the Cabo Verde national team

Praia, Sep 5 (Inforpress) – sérvio Ljubomir Obradovic will be presented this afternoon as the new coach of the Cape Verdean men's senior handball team, in a ceremony to be held at the Government Palace.

This marks Obradovic's return to the helm of the Cape Verdean national team, which had led Cabo Verde to African runner-up status and to the World Cup in Sweden.

The coach left his post in September 2021, after replacing Portuguese José Tomás, who led the team at the 2021 World Cup in Egypt, held from January 13 to 31 in the cities of Cairo and Alexandria.

The presentation ceremony, according to a government note, will be attended by the Prime Minister's Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Carlos Monteiro, an "unequivocal sign of the Government's commitment to promoting and ensuring the development of handball throughout the country."
