Praia, Jul 7 (Inforpress) - The Judiciary Police today warned the public to avoid touching any object and to preserve the scene until the police arrive, in the event of crimes such as home invasion or vehicle theft.
On its official facebook page, the institution advises that, before taking any action, the victim should immediately contact the police via their emergency contacts and prevent family members or neighbours from altering the crime scene.
“By protecting the site and not allowing it to be altered, investigative work is facilitated and the possibility of identifying the perpetrators is increased," the PJ emphasises in the publication.
This appeal comes at a time when the authorities have recorded a significant number of incidents related to property crime, namely thefts and break-ins.
