World Cup/Handball: Cape Verde face Brazil this afternoon in the match for second place in the Group

Praia, 16 Jan. (Inforpress) – The Cape Verdean team faces its Brazilian counterpart this afternoon in the Lusophone derby of the 28th Men’s Handball World Cup, in a match to be played at the “Scandinavium” pavilion in Gothenburg, Sweden.

With a victory each, achieved against Uruguay and a defeat against the hosts of Sweden, Cape Verdeans and Brazilians, already qualified for the second phase, face each other this afternoon, at 16:00 in Cape Verde, in search of the second position of Group C.

Cape Verde beat Uruguay by 33-25 in the opening round and lost to Sweden by 34-27, while Brazil beat Uruguay by 35-24, having lost to the Swedes by 18-26.

The captain of the Creole team, Leandro Semedo, said that the team is moralized, aware of the difficulties, and that they will do everything within the four lines to defeat the Canarinha team and move forward in their ambitions.
