Women with disabilities show culinary skills after pastry training

Praia, Jul 11 (Inforpress) – The approximately 20 women with disabilities who received training in the pastry and baking sector for three months, hold a tasting session on Thursday at the APIMUD headquarters in the City of Praia with products made by them.

The training, funded by the Ministry of Social Promotion in partnership with the Cabo Verdean Association for the Promotion and Inclusion of Women with Disabilities (APIMUD), is, according to the Association president, Naldi Veiga, a way to ’empower’ women and young people with visual impairment and promote their social inclusion.

The women and young people with disabilities participated for three months in a training session that enabled them to know how to make sweets and savouries products so they could earn a living without dependence on welfare, Naldi Veiga told Inforpress.
