West African experts assess progress in Liberia on the implementation of Agendas 2030 and 2063

Praia, May 8 (Inforpress) – The West Africa Office of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) is organizing a meeting for West African experts in Robertsfield, Liberia, to review progress on the implementation of Agendas 2030 and 2063.

The work, which has the partnership of the Government of Liberia, started this Monday, May 6, under the theme: “National Institutional Capacities and Arrangements to Evaluate Progress in Implementing the Agendas 2030 and 2063: Situation of the Fraternity “challenges and prospects in West Africa”.

This meeting is, according to an official statement, held in a context where the capacities of states are very limited in order to be able to produce quality data in time to cover all indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS) and Agenda 2063.

According to the same source, the African Union (AU) intends to assess the situation and identify the main challenges related to the national monitoring and evaluation capacities of the 2030 and 2063 agendas in West Africa.
