UN-Habitat and Morabi implement participatory program to improve informal settlements

Praia, May 13 (Infopress) – UN-Habitat, in partnership with Morabi, will launch on Tuesday the implementation of the participative program for the improvement of informal settlements (PSUP III) at the United Nations headquarters in the social and community mobilization component.

According to UN-HABITAT’s source, the meeting, where the main actors are expected to participate in the implementation of the program, will jointly reflect on the participatory intervention methodology in informal settlements and jointly establish a schedule of activities.

The event, according to the same source, will have a symbolic moment of exchange of folders of the cooperation agreement signed between the two organizations, worth 118 thousand dollars (11.5 million escudos), for a period of six months.

The PSUP program has been implemented in Cabo Verde since 2009 in partnership with the Government and City Halls, and at this stage the priority pilot projects for community mobilization and intervention in informal settlements are implemented.
