The National Police and the Cape Verdean Music Society with a protocol for “reinforcement of protection” of copyright and related rights

Praia, November 30, 2022 (Inforpress) – The National Police (PN) and the Cape Verdean Music Society (SCM) signed this Tuesday a cooperation protocol aimed at strengthening the protection of copyright and related rights in the field of Cape Verdean music.

The document was signed by the national director of PN, Estaline Moreno, and by the vice-president of SCM, Joaquim Andrade, who stressed that this partnership represents the conclusion of another stage and contribution in the process of promoting Cape Verdean music.

“The act that we have just formalized is the culmination of a process that began some time ago between the two institutions, with a view to creating joint synergies in order to collaborate in the process of protection and defense of copyright in Cape Verde”, he asserted, considering music as “the flagship of Cape Verdean identity”.

He highlighted the work that PN has carried out in the defense and security of music professionals in the country, considering it natural that the said institution is called upon to engage in an “effective” way in promoting the system of protection and defense of copyright in Cape Verde.
