Tarrafal: Priest remembers Saint Amaro Abade as a “great disciple of Jesus”

Tarrafal, Jan 16 (Inforpress) – The Eucharistic celebration in honor of the patron saint of Tarrafal, Saint Amaro Abade, celebrated this Sunday, was presided over by Father Carlos Varela, who evoked him as a “great disciple” of Jesus and asked the faithful to follow his example.

Speaking to the press moments before the mass celebrated with the presence of priests from other parishes of the Diocese of Santiago, the diocesan priest said that Saint Amaro Abade was a “great disciple of Jesus, who sought throughout his life to imitate him and his teachings and propose them to the brothers”.

In this sense, he noted that this “discipleship attitude, which marks our existence and relationship with our neighbor” is the first and great lesson that all Christians and baptized can take from Saint Amaro Abade.

“I’m going to leave a follow-up message, of letting Jesus find us and making our life a mission”, said Father Carlos Varela.
