Study indicates that INE and other institutions produce more than 50% of labor market information

Praia, Mar 6 (Inforpress) – The study on the Labor Market Information System in Cape Verde, presented this Monday in Praia, indicated that in the labor market more than 50% of information is produced by INE and other institutions.

The information was given to the press by the study’s consultant, Noemi Ramos, on the sidelines of the presentation of the Study for Updating the Labor Market Information System (SIMT), which also found a need for ownership of the system and improved coordination between institutions in this matter.

“The Labor Market Information System in Cape Verde is still analytical, as we still only see the production of several indicators, but we lack in terms of moving to the analytical function”, she said.

Noemi Ramos also highlighted the existence of a gap regarding the production and interpretation of indicators so that they can have better use for defining and monitoring policies in relation to the labor market and employment.
