Praia, Feb 27 (Inforpress) – Preliminary data from the 1st and 2nd phases of the first Sports Census, presented this Monday, in Praia, point to the construction and improvement of sports infrastructure as essential factors for the practice of physical exercise and sport.
In its first phase, it began in February last year and focused on the collection of data from families, through a survey of a sample of 6,740 households, on sports practice, demand for sport, and profile of sports practitioners, among others.
The second phase favored the exhaustive survey of data and characterization of all sports infrastructures in the country, namely pavilions, multi-sports facilities, athletics tracks, gymnasiums and sports plaques.
According to the technician from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), Ariana Furtado, in addition to improving infrastructure, respondents pointed to an increase in qualified professionals and increased security.
