São Vicente: Enapor highlights “continuous growth” and impact of transshipment of fish in the island

Mindelo, May 21 (Inforpress) – Enapor has classified the transshipment of fish sector as one of the port market segment that registers “continuous growth” and “important source of income” for the port business, with “significant impact” on the economy of island.

The Enapor – Ports of Cabo Verde company informed, through its website, that for the 2020 season, which started on April 13, Porto Grande has already received eight ships and 2.179 workers have already been recruited for cargo operations and cargo unloading of tuna vessels.

The same source indicated that between the April and October the movement of “hundreds of casual workers” in Porto Grande do Mindelo has been “visible”, who take this chance to guarantee their livelihood.

On the other hand, the same company announced today the opening of the small packages in the city of Praia, which, in this first period, will deliver packages for ships that arrived at warehouses A and B until April 17th.
