Sal Island: Ponta Preta hosts the “GKA Kite-Surf World Cup Cabo Verde 2023”

Santa Maria, Mar 17 (Inforpress) – Ponta Preta beach, in Santa Maria, inaugurates this Friday, the “GKA Kite World”, the first circuit of the Kite World Championship in the disciplines of kitesurfing and wing-Foil, involving the best male and female professionals of moment.

According to the organization, a total of 120 of the best athletes in the world in both disciplines are registered, representing Cape Verde, Australia, Spain, Brazil, South Africa, Canada, Morocco, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Germany, United States of America, Holland and Switzerland.

The Australian James Carew, the Cape Verdean Matchú Lopes, the Brazilians Pedro Matos, Sebastian Ribeiro and Gabriel Benetton, with a guaranteed presence in the race, position themselves as the first five in the world “ranking” for men in kitesurfing.

The French Capucine Delannoy leads the female “ranking”, soon followed by the Brazilian Kesiane Rodrigues, Frances Kelly (Canada), Camille Losserand (Switzerland) and Johanna-Catharina Edin (Sweden), for which a battle is expected in this match.
