Praia, Jul 8 (Inforpress) – The Sal Island hosts the 3rd International Summit of Local Leaders from 9-11 this month, with 140 national and international representatives from seven African, American and European countries.
According to a press release, the event is organized by the National Association of Municipalities of Cabo Verde (ANMCV), in partnership with the Government and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and takes place within the framework of the implementation of the Platforms for local development Programme and 2030 objectives in Cabo Verde.
Under the theme “Territory as a space of innovation for the implementation of the Agenda 2030”, the summit aims to analyze the importance of territorial innovation to promote local economic development processes and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Objectives (ODS), and collect contributions to be presented at the Fifth World Forum on Local Economic Development (DEL), scheduled for December in Argentina.
During the meeting there will be presented experiences of success, good practices and territorial innovations capable of mobilizing the private sector, public actors and civil society, in order to reach local goals and global development goals.
“Innovative territorial models, facilitating frameworks to locate and achieve ODS, to be more inclusive and to fight against territorial imbalances”, “Innovations and Communication: The importance of communication for Agenda 2030”, and “Analyzing the Universality of ODS: national innovators: How to mobilize partners around the Agenda 2030,” are the topics under analysis during the three days.
