Rosana Almeida and Ligia Fonseca hope the Parity Law will be scheduled and discussed in October

Assomada, Sep 27 (Inforpress) – The ICIEG president and the first lady reminded MPs of their commitment at the last July session that the discussion and approval of the Parity Bill will resume next October.

Rosana Almeida and Lígia Fonseca, who participated this Thursday in Assomada, Santa Catarina, at the launching of the second edition of the “Gender Equality” short stories contest, took advantage of the presence of the media to remind parliamentarians about their commitment.

Discussion and approval of the Parity Bill was suspended from the July session to resume in October.

The justification presented was that “the leaders of the two parliamentary workbenches (MpD and PAICV) and the three UCID MPs came to the understanding that the project should be discussed in more detail with civil society, so that the country is endowed with a law that suits it best”.
