Praia, Oct 2nd (Inforpress) – The President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, begins on Wednesday, 04, a two-day official visit to Cabo Verde, with a focus on strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation in the area of the sea.
The announcement was made this morning, in the City of Praia, by the President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, on the sidelines of the opening of the forum on Gender Equality in Sport, promoted by the Association of African National Olympic Committees (ACNOA), on the days 02 and 03, on the island of Sal.
He said that this, the first visit by a German president to Cabo Verde, was a “very important” moment, as it would allow the “strengthening of relations” of friendship and co-operation between the two countries in the area of the sea and the environment, with climate action being the priority on the agenda.
“The president is now coming to open new avenues of cooperation between Cabo Verde and Germany, not only intergovernmental cooperation, but above all between companies, research institutes, universities so that we can create and innovate in this fundamental area that is the sea”, pointed.
