President of OMCV defends reinforcement of actions to promote and value women

Praia, Mar 8 (Inforpress) – The president of OMCV, Eloisa Cardoso, defended the need to reinforce actions to promote and value women, so that the female class can actively contribute to the development process of Cabo Verde.

The president of the Organization of Women of Cape Verde (OMCV) made these statements to Inforpress, as part of the commemorative activities for International Women’s Day celebrated today.

The event, she highlighted, serves not only to bring to the center of the debate the challenges that women still face around the world, but also to promote a deep reflection on the paths taken and the gains achieved.

According to this official, strengthening actions to promote and value women, in addition to ensuring that the female class can actively contribute in different areas, also prevents distorted ideas about the meaning of an empowered woman from being transmitted in Cape Verdean society.
