Portugal: Cape Verdean boxer David Pina is two-time champion of the 2023 Portuguese Cup

Lisbon, Oct 2nd  (Inforpress) – Cape Verdean international boxer David Pina, born in Santa Cruz, in the interior of the island of Santiago, became two-time champion of the 2023 Portuguese Cup, in the elite 54 kilograms category, after winning the prize also in 2022.

The Portuguese Cup took place from from September 29th to October 1st at the Serra das Minas Municipal Pavilion in Sintra.

David Pina, who won the bronze medal at the Maputo 2022 African Championships, also won the gold medal this year at the Les Ceintures international tournament in Saint-Nazaire, France, in the 54-kilogram category.

Also this year, the champion of Africa zone II 2019 won the silver medal in the Italy vs Portogallo tournament that took place in Italy, and won the gold medal in the V Open Box Marvila, in Portugal, a competition that he had also won in 2021.

    São Vicente: Ministry of the Sea presents final version of the National Strategy for the Sea 2023-2033 Mindelo, Dec 8 (Inforpress) – The government is preparing to present the National Strategy for the Sea 2023-2033 and its action plan, an instrument for planning, operationalising and implementing economic and social development related to the sea and the economic activities it supports. The Ministry of the Sea said that the presentation workshop should take place on the 19th in the conference room of the Chamber of Commerce of Barlavento, in Mindelo, followed by a debate/clarification session. The same source clarified that the National Strategy for the Sea 2023-2033 came from the responsibility of the National Directorate of Maritime Policy (DNPM) to propose and develop measures that promote the competitiveness of the sector, aiming to make the country a maritime logistics platform in the Middle Atlantic. It will provide answers to the “major challenges” of the decade and will strengthen Cape Verde’s position and visibility in the region and the world as a “historically and geographically maritime” nation.
