Praia, Sep 12 (Inforpress) Today, the President of PAICV, Francisco Carvalho praised the work of the Association of Fighters for the Freedom of the Homeland (ACOLP) and the Amílcar Cabral Foundation in preserving memory and transmitting national history to future generations.
The statements were made to the press at the end of a visit to the two institutions in Praia, in which Francisco Carvalho was accompanied by the party's vice-president, Joanilda Alves, and the general secretary, Vladmir Silves Ferreira.
The PAICV leader justified the visit, which took place on the symbolic date of Amílcar Cabral's birthday, as a way of demonstrating the party's recognition of the "highly relevant work" that the associations have been doing in preserving history and national identity.
"In other words, it's important to emphasize that this is a highly relevant project. We have an entire historical process of building this nation and this country, with key players who participated and were indispensable in the process of building our entire history and identity," he argued.
