Praia, Nov 28 (Inforpress) – The MpD (opposition party) considered Wednesday that the policies implemented by the Government to promote employment provide concrete evidence of their effectiveness, thanks to the “deep reforms” made for the economy growth.
The consideration was made by MpD parliamentary workbench leader Rui Figueiredo during the first intervention in the youth employment debate, an initiative scheduled at the request of the PAICV (opposition party) parliamentary group.
As he said, the Government has “put youth at the center of its concern”, giving it due priority in its policies and actions and, along with its partners, has been empowering them in “excellent vocational education and training”, promoting a new entrepreneurial culture.
According to INE data, in 2016 the youth unemployment rate was 41 percent (%), in 2017 it stood at 32.4% and in 2018 at 27.8%. “ The figures are not misleading, they are clear and, above all, they express in practice the choices of the Government’s youth policies,” he said.
