Ministry of Education says it is attentive to situations of insecurity in schools and promises to combat the phenomenon

Praia, Sept 2 (Inforpress) – The Ministry of Education is aware of situations of insecurity in schools and has been working with the National Police to combat the phenomenon and create a good study environment, Adriano Moreno told Inforpress.

“In addition to what is done in the disciplinary council we are working with civil society, churches and the National Police, through the Safe School program, so that we have greater security and young people have the understanding that the school is to study and not to fights,” said the National Director of Education who made this reading in an exclusive interview given to Inforpress at the beginning of the 2022/2023 school year.

He also stressed that the situation of violence in schools is not “good for the formation of anyone”.

Therefore, in this task of ensuring safety for students, teachers and other technicians working in schools, he said it was “important” to have support from society, parents and guardians to participate in the working lives of schools, as well as students forming associations to support and organize colleagues.
