Porto Inglês, Aug 22 (Inforpress) – The island of Maio hosts, from August 23rd to 25th, the 2nd edition of the ODS Camping, an event will be chaired by the MCIC, Abraão Vicente, as president of the Unesco National Commission for Cabo Verde.
According to a press release, Cabo Verde still faces major challenges in the context of poverty, unemployment, social inequalities and environmental problems, and in this sense there is a need to offer young people the opportunity to share and embrace the ODS, the concepts of cohesion and sustainable development and to act on their behalf.
For this reason, the National Commission of Cabo Verde for UNESCO, under the scope of the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Sport and Youth Institute, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the City Hall of Maio, holds the 2nd edition of ODS Camping, August 23-25.
This event takes place on the Island of Maio, as Cabo Verdean Youth Capital City (CCCJ) 2022, and aims to generate knowledge and understanding on the ODS, as well as sustainable global changes, including young people in decision-making and making them global citizens able to act locally.
