Praia, Jan 17 (Inforpress) – The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance defended today that development is done by people and for people, hence an appeal to their collaborators to be responsible for quality responses and in real time.
Olavo Correia, who launched this challenge at the swearing-in ceremony of the new Director General of Heritage and Public Procurement, Francisco Moreira, said that the Cape Verdean Public Administration must prepare for times of greater complexities, scrutiny, inspections and better awareness of the rights of each one.
“In a state of law, of claiming and redeeming conflicts, we must be able to respond in a timely manner and with quality. The first obligation of a competent service of the State is to be responsible and, for that, we have to define the level of service we have been betting on, highly motivated human resources, clear leadership and the ability to permanently control results”, he said.
Still, according to the official, who admits that nowadays everyone expects timely and assertive answers, a quality response out of time is “terrible” since it does not serve to “let opportunities pass, people suffering and the country skating”.
