Praia, July 13 (Inforpress) - The Cape Verdean Football Federation (FCF) will receive approximately 14 million euros for the national team's participation in the 2026 World Cup and for qualifying for the round of 32, the federation president announced on Sunday.
In statements to Cape Verdean Television (TCV), the federation leader, Mário Semedo, explained that the total amount results from the sum of the preparation, participation and qualification bonuses for the knockout phase of the tournament, emphasizing the importance of clarifying the official figures to avoid speculation.
According to the official, all the money allocated by FIFA will be strictly channeled towards covering financial liabilities, logistical costs, and structural investments that the federation has underway.
When questioned about the strong international market interest in national team players and coach Bubista, following their historic performance in the World Cup, Mário Semedo considered it a "perfectly normal phenomenon in football".
