Praia, Dec 2 (Inforpress) – The organization of the workshop “Uncleciclopedia- Hip Hop behind the cameras” expressed the intention to promote unity between the hip hop movement made in Cabo Verde and the diaspora, specifically in Portugal.
Speaking to Inforpress, in the city of Praia, Friday on the fringes of the workshop, Fidjuz di Cabral Association representative Elizandra Barbosa said that the purpose of the event is to share experiences about the hip hop movement in Portugal, from a perspective behind of the cameras.
The workshop was taught by Cabo Verdean hip hop documentary filmmaker in Portugal, Corsino Furtado, known as “Uncle C”, who took the opportunity to demonstrate his work in film and documentary production in Amadora, Portugal.
In 2007, Uncle C released the documentary “Encyclopedia Hip Hop Volume I” and later released “Uncleciclopedia Volume II”.
At this moment, he is in Cabo Verde to share with the lovers and members of the hip hop movement in the country his experience, bringing his vision and, from that, record the volume III of his documentary, collecting testimonials in some neighborhoods of the capital.
For the organization of the workshop, urban art and hip hop culture are “steadily rising in Cabo Verde”.
