Praia, Feb 14 (Inforpress) – The technical team of the National Cabo Verde women’s soccer team called 20 athletes for the Union of Western African Federations Tournament (UFOA), which takes place from February 25 to March 7, at Sierra Leone.
According to the Cabo Verdean Football Federation’s plan, the women’s national team training for this first edition of UFOA in women’s football is scheduled to start at the beginning of next week.
Cabo Verde, which is preparing for its official internationalization of its women’s football, according to the draw, stayed in Group A, along with national teams from Sierra Leone, Guinea Conakry and Senegal, with Group B being formed by national teams from Mali, Gambia, Liberia and Guinea-Bissau.
The National Women’s Football Team project kicked off in 2018, but the Creole team played its first game abroad last year, with Guinea-Bissau.
Led by Silvéria Nédio “Nita, the technical team summoned nine players from Seven Stars, four from Mindelense, four from Llana do Sal, two from Dorense and one from Benz Taxi.
