WHO will continue to support the “Less Alcohol, More Life” campaign – responsible

Praia, May 31 (Inforpress) – The World Health Organization (WHO) representative in Cabo Verde, Mariano Castellón, assured that the organization will continue to support the “Less Alcohol, More Life” campaign, initiative by the Presidency of the Republic of Cabo Verde.

Mariano Castellón, who is now finishing his term of office after five years in Cabo Verde, has given this assurance to the journalists after presenting his greetings and receiving the award from the Republic.

“The WHO has been a partner of the Presidency of the Republic since the beginning of the campaign,” said the official, adding that the organization has invested in this presidential initiative and that it is a “fundamental social tool” to reduce “a great public health problem” in Cabo Verde,” known by all”, which is the abusive consumption of alcohol.

Mariano Castellón also said that the WHO representation in Cabo Verde had the opportunity to promote this presidential initiative to participate in an international competition, organized by the United Nations Platform, which focuses on noncommunicable diseases.
