Victor Oliveira Represents Cabo Verde at the African Fencing Championships in Côte d’Ivoire

Praia, June 3 (Inforpress) – International foil fencer Victor Oliveira is already in Côte d’Ivoire to participate in the African Senior Fencing Championships, taking place from 31 May to 6 June.

According to information provided by the president of the Cape Verdean Fencing Federation, Maria Silva, Victor Oliveira will be competing within the next few hours alongside dozens of fencers from various African countries.

“Our Olympic athlete also decided to compete in the épée and sabre events, finishing in fifth place in épée, which was a very positive result as it places Cabo Verde on the world ranking list in two additional weapons,” the federation official explained.

The national federation, Silva announced, expects to expand its pool of athletes next year, as work towards this objective has been ongoing.
