Praia, 29 July (Inforpress) – A delegation of US Congress members visited the National Assembly today on a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening relations of friendship, cooperation and inter-parliamentary dialogue between the two countries
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Brian Babin, Chair of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Science, Space and Technology, stated that the mission’s main objective is to strengthen existing ties between Cabo Verde and the United States, as well as to identify areas for cooperation, particularly in the fields of science, technology, energy, research and development.
“We are here as a gesture of friendship and we want to build this relationship as close allies and friends of Cabo Verde,” said the US congressman, emphasising the delegation’s interest in understanding the country’s needs and assessing ways to support its technological development.
According to Brian Babin, Cabo Verde could benefit from new emerging technologies, particularly in the field of connectivity, through solutions such as Starlink, which could help to improve connectivity between the islands
