Praia, Jun 6 (Inforpress) – University professor Sandra Freire pointed out Wednesday in the City of Praia that dry haze is the most worrying phenomenon in air pollution in Cabo Verde.
Dry haze is formed when there is condensation of water vapor, but in association with dust, smoke and other pollutants, which gives a greyish appearance to the air.
“It is difficult to make an assessment in Cabo Verde because we have few studies, but the air pollution, which can be caused by natural sources, mainly dry haze, causes great impacts in Cabo Verde”, said the professor.
Sandra Freire spoke on the sidelines of the conference on “Air Quality and Challenges of Sustainable Development”, promoted during the celebrations of World Environment Day.
