Praia, July 14 (Inforpress) – The University of Santiago and the International Academy of First Aid and Pre-Hospital Care reinforce their partnership with the signing of a protocol to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions in the areas of training, scientific research, first aid, and pre-hospital care.

The president of the International Academy of First Aid and Pre-Hospital Care of Cabo Verde, Yancey Heredia, stated that the partnership will allow the introduction into the country of a teaching methodology developed by institutions with more than 40 years of experience in emergency response, such as those in Brazil and Argentina.

According to this official, the academy intends to implement a training model in Cabo Verde aimed at preparing professionals capable of intervening in the first minutes of an emergency, a phase that the same source considers crucial for the survival of victims.

“All healthcare graduates in Cabo Verde leave with the basic training required to work in institutions such as hospitals, clinics and health centres,” he said.
