Unions call for government intervention regarding alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Postal Service's Career Plan

Mindelo, July 3 (Inforpress) – The unions Simetec and Sintcap today called for “urgent government intervention” in the implementation of the new Job, Career and Salary Plan (PCCS) for the Cabo Verde Post Office, alleging that the process was conducted with illegalities.

At a press conference in Mindelo, Tomás Aquino, representing the Metalworking, Transport, Communications and Tourism Union (Simetec) and the Transport, Communications and Public Administration Union (Sintcap), stated that the Post Office administration "did not fulfill the commitment made" at the beginning of the year to submit the PCCS (Career, Compensation and Salary Plan) project to the union structures for discussion and dissemination among the workers.

"We were surprised to receive a service order informing us that the Job, Career and Salary Plan had already been implemented. There was no dialogue; we were completely ignored," he stated.

According to Tomás Aquino, the first step is to make the situation public and request the intervention of the executive branch.
