Trust Fund Project launched this Wednesday in Praia

Praia, Aug 14 (Inforpress) – The Codex Alimentarius National Commission launches this Wednesday, in Praia, the Fiduciary Fund II project that aims to structure and improve the organization and functioning of the national codex structure.

Speaking to Inforpress, Cabo Verde codex focal point Hélder Lopes said the project was launched 4 years ago by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), aiming at training the national commissions of African countries.

As he explained, at this moment, the country already has a structure that works intermittently, but the idea is to put it actively to participate in all activities promoted by the international codex.

Helder Lopes assured that for the next three years, the project will focus on structuring the national commission, the country’s participation in the work to strenght  and enhanced the codex, the engagement and raise awareness the country’s decision makers and informing and raise awareness among economic operators and food professionals and consumers.
