Espargos, Apr 3 (Inforpress) – The president of the Cabo Verde’s travel and tourism agencies Association warned on the need to travel agencies prepare to meet the current market challenges and new business models.
“(…) they must prepare themselves because there is no other way to sustainability”, cautioned Mário Sanches, taking as his reference to a TAP report, which indicates that 41% of the business was done online, with the prospect of increasing sales online to 50% in 2019.
Mário Sanches made the following comments to Inforpress, on the sidelines of the first Ministerial Conference on Tourism and Air Transport in Africa, which took place from March 26 to 29 in the tourist town of Santa Maria, Sal, where he participated as a representative of the Cabo Verde Travel and Tourism Agencies.
“Of course more online sales take the business to the travels. That is, the agencies will have to take this step if they want to remain sustainable”, he warned, also drawing attention in the sense of perceiving what impact the Internet has, currently, in the intermediation of travel agencies.
Because of the advances in information technology, the Internet has been becoming more and more present in people’s lives and also in the travel market.
